PVR Limited is opening its first 12-screen multiplex in New Delhi. The 12 Screen Superplex flagship property with IMAX and 4DX at Vegas Mall, Dwarka is the biggest by PVR in India so far. PVR recently also ventured into Sri Lanka.

PVR Cinemas has recently launched a Mega 12-screen Superplex at the Vegas Mall in Delhi’s Dwarka city. It is the largest property of the chain till date in the National capital region with 1,850 seats, while the screen count remains second to the Noida Logix theater. An estimated Rs. 70 crore was spent on the property by PVR.

The Superplex features one IMAX screen, one 4 DX screen, two luxury LUXE auditoriums, seven traditional auditoriums, and one kids-playhouse auditorium.
“Dwarka houses one of Asia’s largest townships and boasts several couples with double income but hasn’t had a multiplex until now with people traveling to West Delhi or Gurgaon to watch movies,” said Gautam Dutta.

As far as investment in large-format cinema is concerned in particular with combating the risk from over-the-top video streaming sites, Dutta said the chain of the exhibition had developed to meet new challenges.
